nouns and proper nouns

Lately I've become intrigued by the nouns and proper nouns that make up the subject lines in a lot of junk mail:
basilisk
cahill
palmyra
throne
sophocles
Is there a machine that churns out intriguing words? Words that make your fingers itch to click the mail to see what is inside, even though you know it will just be something about cheap drugs, or small penises made big.

Whale-spot

Narrow shafts of light were still breaking through the clouds. And then they weren't and it was almost dark. John cast his hand line another time but complained about the bait, which was smelly.
"Smelly squid", he said. The bait landed with a splash and all the curious fish were quick to evacuate the area.
Sometimes fishing isn't about catching fish.
"Fuck!" John said. "What was that?" Pointing to the horizon.
"Where? Where?" I said.
"Over there!"
"What was it?"
"I don't know, it was big."
And then it shot a spout of water and splashed again. It was very big. My first whale-spot of the season.
